How to Keep Your Home Fly-Free!

Hello dear readers,
Welcome to our monthly newsletter!

This month we're focusing on a problem that can be both annoying and unhygienic: flies in the home. Flies can spread disease and spoil food, but fortunately there are many effective methods to keep them away. Here are some tips and tricks to ensure your home stays Insect Free!

1. Keep it clean and tidy
Flies are attracted to food scraps and waste. By keeping your home clean and tidy, you can reduce the risk of fly problems.

Here are some cleaning tips:

- Empty the trash regularly and store trash bags in closed containers.

- Wash dishes immediately after meals and wipe down surfaces to remove food residue.

- Store food in tightly sealed containers and avoid leaving food out

2. Install Fly Screens

A great solution for keeping flies out. They can be installed on windows and doors to prevent insects from entering your home. Choose a net with fine mesh to ensure that even small flies are kept out.

3. Use natural deterrents.

There are several natural methods to deter flies:

- Clove and lemon: Cut a lemon in half and stick cloves in it. Place the lemon where the flies usually hang out.

- Lavender and eucalyptus: Flies dislike the scent of these plants. Use essential oils or plant lavender and eucalyptus near doors and windows.

- Apple cider vinegar and dish soap: Mix apple cider vinegar with a few drops of dish soap in a bowl.

This acts as a trap because the flies are attracted to the vinegar but get stuck because of the dish soap.

4. Set up Traps: Can be an effective way to reduce the fly population.

Here are some simple traps you can make yourself:

- Bottle trap: Fill a bottle with some apple cider vinegar and put a funnel on it. The flies will be attracted into the bottle but won't be able to get out.

- Sticky traps: These can be purchased at most stores and placed around the house to catch the flies.

5. Get professional help: If you have a serious fly problem, it may be worth contacting a pest control company like Flugfritt.se. They can offer more permanent solutions and have access to effective pesticides.

We hope these tips help you keep your home fly-free!
